Your guide to establishing and running a successful 
B & J Wonderland Day Care

B & J Wonderland Day Care 

Obtain the Day Care Booklet Application 

Go on the NYC site to complete the Child Care Orientation and request the booklet. It will take 2 weeks to receive the booklet in the mail. 


When Requesting the booklet you will be applying for a Group Family Day Care or GFDC.

The booklet should be mailed to the apartment where the day care will be established or you can mail it to a different address as long as it is in the same borough that the day care will be in.

You can add your cellphone for now and once the landline phone number is obtained we will update the number directly with the Department of Health Registrar.

Obtain an EIN

(Once we obtain the day care apartment and have the exact address)

The Employer Identification Number, also known as the Federal Employer Identification Number or the Federal Tax Identification Number, is a unique nine-digit number assigned by the Internal Revenue Service to business entities operating in the United States for the purposes of identification.

A tax ID number is used and replaces the use of your ssn.

Create an email address

Create the business entity

(Once we obtain the day care apartment and have the exact address)

Business name: Your First name Day Care 

Entity Type: C- Corporation

Owners: 2

Percentage: 51% You and 49% Brigida Saladin

Titles: You are the President/CEO

Brigida Saladin is the Treasurer

NOTE: Do not purchase any additional add ons, you must ensure you check them off as they are automatically checked and added to the cart. 

The total should be less than $400

Surveillance Camera

Once there is internet on site, the Surveillance Cameras have been mounted and connected to the ethernet cable you will email Joshua Stenger at ABCKAM.

In order to configure the cameras you will need a computer connected to the wifi of the day care. 

Additional steps will be provided directly from Joshua via email.

Once the cameras are configured you will ask Joshua to turn them off until the first child is ready to begin. 

Two days before you are ready to begin caring for your first child you will email Joshua and ask him to turn the cameras on.

Bank Account 

Go in person or schedule an appointment at JP Morgan Chase Bank to set up the day care business account. 

Add Brigida Saladin as an authorized user. she can go in and sign within 30 days from the day you open the account. 

This step will take place once the Day Care Application has been submitted to the Department of Health

Kid kare Food Program 

Once the day care is fully set up and before we begin caring for children you will contact the food program to become affiliated with them. 

You will contact them via email  and let them know you are opening a day care and will be part of the B & J Wonderland Day Care Team.

Administration: Sign up, using legal entity information to use the free version only. 

On site provider: Once account has been created download app to iPad and your mobile cell and sign in.

Service to be obtained: Payroll and HR Services

Contact Anays via email once a new day care facility has been licensed and is ready to begin payroll services. Provide everything she requires to obtain her Services.

What we must obtain from Anays:

- Legal posters to be placed at the day care

- Workers Compensation

-Disability Insurance 


Insurance is required once the day care is licensed by the Department of Health.

Marketing and Advertising 

Google Business

Employees first day of work

Create one file for the new employee. Collect the  employee files and ensure they are completed correctly.

Complete this walk through on the employees first day.

Ensure this welcome message is sent to all families on Bright wheel on the employees first day.
